IL Trainings

These trainings are at Access to Independence in San Diego and take place on the 3rd Friday of every month, 1:00 - 2:00. Peer Support Groups are on the same Friday, 2:30 - 3:30 following the IL Trainings.

Come and learn important skills and tools to be more independent! It's easy, it's in one location and it's FREE!

Beginning in October of last year, Access to Independence received a grant from Housing and Urban Development in conjunction with the Fair Housing Council of San Diego.

Our Consumers, Staff And Programs Reflect The Diversity Of The Community We Serve

INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS: Offers a variety of trainings designed to provide consumers
with the skills to achieve or enhance their independence.

a2i offers support groups, and individual IL skills trainings; please call 619-293-3500 for schedules.

VOLUNTEER: This program supports the a2i team in a variety of ways from clerical assistance to committee membership.

ADVOCACY: Advocacy is the foundation upon which independent living was built. The goal of systems and self advocacy is to create positive change to legislation and policies, educate legislators, and organize and train the disability community to advocate for themselves.

INFORMATION & REFERRAL: Provides information and referral about community resources and services relevant to people with disabilities.
