a2i Project Wild Fire Update

100,000 People With Disabilities and Elderly Have Been Displaced by the San Diego County Wild Fires.

Access to Independence provides services to the disabled community on a daily basis, but since the wild fires, the need for our services has expanded tremendously.

We have been working in conjunction with city, county and state organizations to provide the emergency services that people with disabilities urgently need. We have donated durable medical equipment to fire victims, and we are currently sending teams of staff members to visits shelters throughout the county to determine what else we can do to continue meeting the needs of the disabled population.

Some of you in the community have responded with questions regarding donations. As always, we appreciate your donations, and want to make it as easy as possible. You can donate through our website, by simply clicking on the “Donation Option” under the GET INVOLVED category on the left side of the home page, but if you would prefer to send a check directly to our office, please make your checks payable to a2i – Wild Fire Project, and we will promptly acknowledge, and use the funds for fire related projects.

We are eager to share our stories and photos with you, so please check back for updates.
